Terms of service

These Terms govern access to and use of ReviseOnline websites, applications, educational content, assessment tools, analytics and related services (the Platform). By creating an account, purchasing access, or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you act for a school or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

About ReviseOnline

ReviseOnline Pty Ltd (ACN 605 449 134) provides curriculum-aligned educational resources, assessments, learning tools, analytics and related services for students, teachers, schools and other authorised users.

Who may use the Platform

The Platform is intended for authorised individual users and institutional users. Many student users are under 18. Where a user cannot legally agree to these Terms, access must be authorised by a parent, guardian, school or other person with appropriate authority. A school or institution may also impose additional conditions on accounts it administers.

Accounts and security

  • Provide accurate information and keep account details reasonably current.
  • Keep login credentials secure and do not share an account with another person unless expressly permitted.
  • Use the Platform only within the access, role, school, class, licence and other permissions assigned to you.
  • Tell ReviseOnline promptly if you reasonably suspect unauthorised use of your account.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account to the extent permitted by law, except where the activity results from a failure by ReviseOnline to apply reasonable security controls.

Purchases, licences and subscriptions

Prices, access periods and inclusions are shown at the point of purchase or in the applicable school, institutional or commercial agreement. Unless stated otherwise, a purchase grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the relevant Platform services for the authorised educational purpose and access period. School and institutional access is governed by the relevant order, purchase order, agreement or licence arrangement.

Refunds and Australian Consumer Law

Our voluntary refund arrangements are described in the Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law.

Acceptable use

You must use the Platform lawfully and in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy. Among other things, you must not misuse accounts, bypass permissions or security controls, scrape or bulk-extract content without authorisation, interfere with the Platform, infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, or use the Platform to harm, harass or deceive others.

Third-party services

ReviseOnline may integrate with or rely on third-party services for functions such as payments, authentication, school onboarding, assessment delivery, communications, support and technical monitoring. Those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy practices. ReviseOnline remains responsible for its own obligations and selects service providers having regard to the nature of the service and information involved.

Intellectual property

The Platform, ReviseOnline content, software, designs, questions, learning materials, analytics, branding and other materials are owned by ReviseOnline or its licensors unless stated otherwise. You may use them only for the educational purpose and access rights granted to you. You must not reproduce, sell, publish, adapt, redistribute, commercially exploit or create an unauthorised derivative product from ReviseOnline content.

User-generated content

You retain ownership of material you lawfully submit or create. By uploading or submitting content to the Platform, you grant ReviseOnline a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, technically adapt, moderate and otherwise use that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and improve the Platform, provide the educational service, comply with law, and administer the relevant school or user relationship. This licence does not transfer ownership of your original work.

You must have the right to submit the content. ReviseOnline may restrict or remove content that breaches these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, applicable law, or the rights of another person.

Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy. School-managed accounts may also be subject to a school or institutional privacy arrangement.

De-identified and aggregated information

ReviseOnline may use information that has been appropriately de-identified, aggregated or anonymised to understand usage, improve educational services, develop product features, generate statistics and benchmarking, and conduct internal analysis, provided individuals and schools are not reasonably identifiable from that information.

Artificial intelligence and automated features

Some Platform features may use artificial intelligence, predictive analytics or automated processing to assist learning, marking, feedback, content generation or analysis. These outputs are educational aids and may contain errors or limitations. Users should apply appropriate professional or academic judgement and should not treat automated output as official certification, legal advice or a guaranteed academic outcome.

Service changes and availability

We may maintain, update, replace or improve Platform features over time. Temporary interruptions may occur for maintenance, security, upgrades, third-party outages or events beyond our reasonable control. We will take reasonable steps to maintain service availability appropriate to the service provided.

Educational outcomes

ReviseOnline provides educational tools and resources. We do not guarantee any particular examination result, grade, admission outcome, learning improvement or other academic outcome. Official results and curriculum requirements are determined by the relevant school, education authority or other responsible body.

CALCED and predictive analytics

Where CALCED or another predictive feature is available, projections and estimates are indicative only. They do not constitute official results, certification or advice, and users should rely on official information from the relevant education authority for verified results or requirements.

SELECTED and third-party school information

Where ReviseOnline displays school profiles, fees, scholarships, programs or other third-party information, that information is provided for general information. Details may change and should be verified directly with the relevant school or governing authority before a decision is made.

Suspension and termination

We may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users or the Platform, investigate misuse, respond to a security or legal issue, enforce these Terms, or administer an expired or revoked licence. Where appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to remedy the issue. Serious or urgent matters may require immediate action.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReviseOnline is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Platform. Any exclusion or limitation in these Terms applies only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes a right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for loss or claims arising from your unlawful use of the Platform, material breach of these Terms, or content you submit without the necessary rights, except to the extent the loss was caused or contributed to by ReviseOnline.

Schools and institutional customers

A school or institutional agreement, order form or purchase order may contain additional terms concerning licensing, onboarding, support, privacy, security, records, data handling or service levels. If there is an inconsistency, the specific institutional agreement applies to that customer to the extent of the inconsistency.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms where our services, business arrangements or legal obligations change. The current version will be published with its effective date. Material changes affecting paid institutional arrangements will be managed consistently with the applicable agreement and law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia and courts entitled to hear appeals from them, subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction that cannot lawfully be excluded.
